collaborative project with nous vous. residency project at the tetley, leeds.
‘a watery line’ sought to investigate the point where art interacts with everyday life through various forms of ‘making’. we used the multi-roomed space to explore the different lines of enquiry within our shared practice including improvised collaborative scuplture, ceramics, music-making, performing, teaching and publishing.
occupying a different part of the gallery for 2 weeks, we focused on creating new work in the space. a body of existing paintings, collages, drawings, prints and objects was exhibited in the formal gallery space. joe gilmore, peter & sally nencini, matt hodson and kate gibb were invited to run workshops on book design, experimental embroidery, printmaking and writing.
we also curated a series of events, including a ‘social’ night, film screenings and talks as part of our events programme. read an interview conducted around the time of the exhibition by it’s nice that here.
